Therapy & Learning - for home educators and 1-1 sessions

How Our Sessions Work

Clients take part in calm, hands-on activities with our sheep, with each session shaped around the needs of the individual learner.

These experiences allow for rich metaphorical learning—discovering how caring for and understanding another species can help clients understand their own emotions, communication, boundaries and self-care.

The Aim

The aim of our Animal-Assisted Learning programme is to strengthen the foundations that support learning, including:

Activities may include:

An Enriching Outdoor Experience

Working alongside our flock can help children gain insight into:

Animal-Assisted Learning & Therapy can be a valuable complement for learners who are finding aspects of education difficult—such as anxiety around attending school, reluctance in specific subjects, or low confidence in their own learning abilities.

Time with the sheep offers a calm, pressure-free environment where children can rebuild confidence, reconnect with curiosity and strengthen their belief in their ability to learn.

What Will an Animal-Assisted Learning Session Look Like?

1-1 Sessions and Home education sessions can takle place either in your home or setting, or by a visit to our farm in Northamptonshore.

Sessions usually run from 1 hour to  a whole day and begin by working together to set up a pen for the sheep, unload the trailer, and collect their food and water.

Children and their Carers can take part in health checks, helping them learn how to observe and care for the flock.

All craft materials will be provided and the Children can keep what they make.
