Animal Care Experiences for Schools & Education Settings

Sessions include practical animal‑care activities such as grooming, feeding, and observing behaviour. These tasks promote responsibility, empathy, and an understanding of animal welfare. We also introduce the history of sheep and their long‑standing role in agriculture, industry, and land management, giving learners real‑world context across curriculum areas,  bring learning to life right on their own grounds.

Participants explore what sheep provide — from fleece and lanolin to their contribution to sustainable grazing — through tactile, age‑appropriate activities. Throughout every visit, we emphasise the positive impact of the human–animal bond, supporting emotional development and offering a grounded, sensory‑rich experience

What an Animal Care Experience Looks Like

A Woolly Wellness Animal Care Experience gives pupils the chance to spend quality time with our friendly flock of sheep in a hands-on, engaging way. Visits can be tailored to half-day or full-day sessions, with the day split into smaller 30-40 minute sessions for groups of children, allowing everyone to fully enjoy caring for the sheep, exploring wool-based crafts, and discovering more about farm life and the natural world. These experiences can also be incorporated into Forest School sessions, bringing animal care and outdoor learning together in a seamless, practical way.
