Care Home Visits
How Our Care Home Sessions Work
Woolly Wellness provides calm, therapeutic sessions designed specifically for care home environments. Our therapy sheep offer a gentle, reassuring presence that supports relaxation, emotional comfort, and positive social interaction.
We bring the sheep directly into the grounds or gardens of your care home, creating a safe outdoor space that encourages residents to come outside and engage at their own pace. Activities such as stroking the sheep, offering a small feed, or quietly observing them promote sensory stimulation and reduce feelings of isolation.
Activities may include:
- Grooming and handling
- Feeding and checking on the flock
- Learning about sheep behaviour and communication
- Supporting daily care routines
- Creating enrichment to support natural behaviours
- Craft activities, felting, wool carding, bird nesting garden hangers, peg looming
Connect with the past and the present
Short stories about sheep and rural life often prompt reminiscence and conversation, helping residents connect past experiences with the present moment.
Each visit is unhurried and adaptable, ensuring residents can participate in whatever way feels comfortable.
What an Animal Care Experience Looks Like
A Woolly Wellness Animal Care Experience gives residents the chance to spend quality time with our friendly flock of sheep in a hands-on, engaging way. Our visits range from 1 hour to a full day in your Care Home or setting, allowing residents to engage at their own pace.
Our Sheep can be interacted with , in their pen, or can also visit residents if they are unable to reach the pen.
We bring all materials needed for craft projects, and residents can keep what they make.
We clear up after the visit, and all trace is gone except for the memories and the smiles.
